ROY WALKER OF TRAUMA UNIT ENTERTAINMENT!

Our Very Own Roy Walker a Super Producer of TRUAMA UNIT ENTERTAINMENT has Granted us a Look into His Life! Roy Walker is a Laurel Ms. Native who now resides in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He attended RH Watkins High School and is a Member of Laurel Tornadoes Ning Website.

I asked Roy, "How do you view Hip Hop?"

Roy said "Right now Tammy....Hip Hop is at it's Marinating Point (Not Dead!!) There is a long way to go to bring back what we had 15 to 20 years ago. What we have today is controlled by the Rap Industry and something totally different than TRUE HIP HOP. No disrespect to the Young Artist doing their thing today, They are definitely doing Their thing, just in a Different Form. The "Golden Era of Hip Hop was Consciouness, Rhythmical, Lyrics/Wordplay, and Beatboxing, etc.

Tammy stated, "Roy you make it seem like we're Old! The Golden Era?! Roy laughs.

Tammy ask, "Do you think Hip Hop is a Movement?

Roy stated, "Depends on the Part of the World you're in. In the Bronx, NY Hip Hop is a Religion. In Johannesburg, South Africa Hip Hop is a Culture that ties Them to Their Western Brothers and Sisters in the United States. TRUE HIP HOP is a Movement, but there isn't enough People that are True to the Movement. If you think about it Tammy 85 out of 100 People will most likely NOT actively participate in the work to keep the Hip Hop Movement Moving!

Tammy said, "Wow!"

Roy proceded to say, "People may listen to Hip Hop, but don't live the Culture, still Banging out on the Streets and Making the Hood, the Hood!!" Roy with one finger up continued on to say, "3 BASICS OF MOVEMENT:

1. Common cause to unite people

2. Language

3. A dress seperated from others (not by race/sex)

Tammy ask, "What type of Platform has Hip Hop placed The Black Community?"

Roy answered,"Hip Hop use to be the Street Bible in The Black Community. Now it's all Political, like everything in our Society today. Best I can tell You is to Monitor what Your Kids listen to until True Hip Hop comes back!!!!

Tammy asked, "Some of the Lyrics are Explicit. Why do you think Hip Hop is loved World Wide?"

Roy anwered, "Hip Hop is a Culture, a way of Life, a Universal Language that Everyone understands and can somehow relate to. Multi-Cultural I guess you can say!!! Roy laughs.

Tammy asked,"Do you think it will last?"

Roy stressed enthusiastically,"Hip Hop will Never Die, unless We as a People Die!!!"

Tammy asked,"What is your Goal with Hip Hop? Where do you Plan on taking it? How far will you go?"

Roy say,"You can Lead a Horse to the Water, but can't Make Him Drink!! But I will continue do what I do! Making Good Music, Play Good Music, and Forever Love HIP HOP!

Tammy asked,"What are some of the things you have going on now?"

Roy answered,"Upgrading My in Home Studio, always looking for New Acts that know Hip Hop. Working , Working, Working....

Tammy asked,"What are we to look for from you in the future?"

Roy replied,"Real Hip Hop", A Collaboration with Former Rappers from Days of Ole, Big Mista, Derrick D, and Mick B, one last run on the Rhyming Tip. Then just Concentrate on Making Tracks and Promoting TRUAMA UNIT ENTERTAINMENT!"

Tammy asked, "Do you have a Big Following?"

Roy said,"Yes, I have enough to Make a Difference!" Roy laughs. Roy,"Take Care and keep Doing Your Thing Ma!!!" (Much Love)

This was a Great Interview for me because of the Huge Platform Hip Hop has now! Roy is Truly Devoted to the Movement of Hip Hop! I think Hip Hop is Truly a Movement it have placed the Black Community on a World Stage. Hip Hop has broken Racial Barriers and more! Hip Hop is the Black Community! For those of You who love Hip Hop, Hip Hop is You ! As Roy would say Forever to Hip Hop!
